This Privacy Policy describes how SideQuests collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our application.
We collect: (a) Account information such as your email address and username when you register; (b) Profile data you voluntarily providing including character class, goals, and progress stats; (c) Usage data such as quests completed, XP earned, and feature interactions; (d) Device information including browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and analytics purposes.
We use your information to: provide and improve the App's features; personalize your experience and quest recommendations; process payments for premium subscriptions; send transactional emails and product updates (you may opt out of marketing emails); ensure security and prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: (a) Service providers who assist in operating the App (hosting, payment processors), bound by confidentiality agreements; (b) Other users only to the extent you choose to participate in public features like leaderboards or guilds; (c) Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.
If you participate in leaderboards or public guilds, your username, level, XP, and rank may be visible to other users. You can adjust visibility settings in your Profile. Your email address is never publicly displayed.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
SideQuests is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@sidequests.app.
We use essential cookies required for authentication and App functionality. We may use analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though disabling certain cookies may affect App functionality.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
